Astek Diagnostics Selected for MedTech Innovator Program and Competing for Best Video Prize – Help Us Win!

Astek Diagnostics, a leader in precision diagnostics, is proud to announce its selection to participate in the prestigious 2024 MedTech Innovator cohort. MedTech Innovator (MTI) is the world's largest accelerator for medical devices, digital health, and diagnostics. Now in its 12th year, MTI’s mission is to improve patient care by accelerating the growth of transformative healthcare companies. To date, 717 portfolio companies have secured 346 FDA approvals and over $8 billion in follow-on financing.
Astek Diagnostics was one of the 65 companies selected out of 1,300 global applicants to take part in the 2024 MedTech Innovator cohort. The final selection of the companies was done by MTI’s strategic partners such as Asahi Intecc, BD, Dexcom, Edwards Lifesciences, Johnson & Johnson, NIPRO, Olympus, W. L. Gore & Associates, and Zimmer Biomet.
Astek is developing the JIDDU Platform, a cutting-edge tool designed to detect bacterial infections and assess antibiotic sensitivity in multiple sample types, including urine, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), blood, and effluent. The company’s immediate goal is to bring its urine-based UTI test to market in 2025. This test identifies urinary tract infections and matches antibiotics in just one hour, addressing the critical need to combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) by avoiding the overuse of antibiotics.
As part of the MTI’s program, Astek Diagnostics is now competing in the Best Video Competition, which is running until September 24th. This competition is more than a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize; it provides the visibility and exposure necessary to attract potential investors and strategic partners. Finalists are selected based on a combination of YouTube views and likes, with likes counting five times more than views.
